Welcome to the Pi Day Game Jam 2024! Join us for a day of creativity, coding, and camaraderie at the Niagara Falls Innovation Hub. This global event, aligned with the International Pi Day theme of “play,” invites game developers, enthusiasts, and learners to come together for a one-day game jam event on March 14, 2024 (final jam submissions through the weekend).

What is the Pi Day Game Jam?

The Pi Day Game Jam is a one-day event where game developers, enthusiasts, and learners come together to create playable games incorporating elements related to the mathematical constant π (pi).

When and where is the event taking place?

The in-person event is on March 14, 2024, at the Niagara Falls Innovation Hub in Niagara Falls, Canada

Anyone from anywhere can submit games!

Is there a registration fee?

No, the event is free to attend. Simply register online before the deadline. Food and refreshments are provided by the generosity of our friends, partners and sponsors.

Can I participate as an individual or do I need a team?

Both! You can participate as an individual or form a team during the team-up session.

Do I need prior game development experience to join?

No, all skill levels are welcome. Whether you’re a seasoned developer or a beginner, the jam is a great learning opportunity.

What are What resources will be available during the jam?

The event provides access to the Niagara Falls Innovation Hub facilities such as super-fast wifi, Adobe Suite A.I-powered software, scanner and printer and drawing tablet. Food and refreshments, as well as a keynote presentation on pi-related concepts.

Is there a prize for the best game?

While there isn’t a traditional prize, all participants receive recognition for their efforts. It’s about the experience, learning, and celebrating Pi Day together.

Can I join the event remotely?

How do I register for the Pi Day Game Jam?
  • To register, simply visit our online registration page and follow the instructions to secure your spot in this exciting event.
Can I use AI to generate my code and assets?

Absolutely, as long as you do not pass off creations as your own with the assistance of A.I. tools, you are simply making the most of your time and resources by employing these A.I. We are very interested to hear about how A.I. was part of your workflow, so please mention it in your game submission.

Do I have to make a game in order to participate?

You can join in and play some games, offer your ideas, and enjoy some pie. All are welcome

Can I come late?

Yes! We’ll give our key remarks at 10 am but the facility will be accessible for Pi Day Game Jam all day, so you can show up at 6 and have a slice of pie and get started on your game. You have all weekend to finish the game.

Do I have to stay all day?

No, spend as much time with us as you feel is beneficial, and then go home to finish your game over the weekend.
